Booster Seats for Cars and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

There have been some major advances in boosters over the last few years. It is well known that boosters are better at fitting lap and shoulder belts on four to eight year olds to restrain them in a crash. One of the things that we love about Britax is the fact that for their carseats as well as their boosters are tested “in house” using the governments test protocol to help them evaluate the products they are designing.

The Institute for Highway Safety just came out with the new booster ratings-the Britax Frontier 85 (combination highback) was at the top of the list of “Best Bets.” Check out the information www.iihs.org. It was surprising to see some of the ones on the “Not Recommended list.”

We always say that one trip to the doctor’s office (or worse) pays for the difference in price of a well fitted, top rated carseat.
